British Railways 81xx Class 2-6-2Tank Steam Locomotive. Built in 1939 at the Great Western Railway's Swindon Works. BR Unlined Green livery with mixed freight wagons. This now represents what I believe to be one of the first steam locomotives for OpenBVE to provide a fully animated set of valve gear, correctly moving pony trucks, and *much* *much* more besides. The sounds and performance data are by no means accurate, although should provide a reasonable representation in most cases. Loco Specifications as Built: Length Over Buffers: 41ft 0in Gross Service Weight: 75*2240Lb longton + 11*115Lb hundredweight Steam Pressure: 225 lb/square inch Driving Wheel Diameter: 5ft 6in Water Capacity: 2000 gallons Notes: Both the 2D and 3D cab versions of this loco are setup with OS_ATS to provide steam traction modelling. However, at the present time, the 3D cab lacks any visible gauges & handles, so should be seen more as a technical demo to be driven with automatic cutoff engaged. Additional gauges are provided at the bottom of the 2D cab for stuff that hasn't been modeled into it at present (Scroll down!) Basic Driving Instructions: * Open the reverser (cutoff) to maximum- 75%. * Release your brakes. * Open the throttle to maximum. * As you move off, slowly reduce the reverser percentage as you gain speed. * If the boiler pressure gauge drops dramatically as you drive, you're using too much reverser- Try decreasing a bit. * You also need to keep an eye on the boiler water level gauge and keep things topped up occasionally. KEYS: * Toggle Automatic Reverser & Injectors (Cutoff)- 2 * Increase Reverser- PgUp * Decrease Reverser- PgDn * Toggle Injectors- End * Toggle Small Ejector (Dummy)- 6 [Please see the download page for more detailed driving instructions] Chris Lees http://www.bvecornwall.co.uk 23rd May 2013
